30 days for a new you. Fake news? Or life hack?

Whilst on a recent TED binge, I came across this interesting little video:

TL;DR

You can do anything for 30 days. Want to write a novel? Write 1,600 words a day for 30 days. Want to get fit? Cycle to work every day for 30 days.

And…?

And that got me thinking. I have loads of goals. This blog is all about goals. It’s about crafting a new me. About becoming the person I want to be. So this 30 days theory really resonated with me. Or perhaps it’s that I’m not that far away from my 30th birthday… And still have quite a few things to tick off my list. Ok, fine. Most things to tick off my list.

Runny Egg

One of the 30 before 30 (do you think I’ve written “30” enough in this post?), is to run a half marathon. When I wrote that down, it seemed entirely unachievable. It was something Future Sallie would have to deal with at some mystical later date.

I’ve never been much of a runner. I’ve never been keen on any form of exercise. I’m more of a house cat. But exercise is good, right? It keeps you fit and healthy, and live a long and happy life, right?

I recently signed up for a 10k run, called Runny Egg. I’m working through a training plan. And by the end of October I’ll have run 10k. That’s half way to a half marathon!

And that’s a achievement 🌟 #GoMe!!

30 days all day long

So, the plan is to get through all my goals, 30 days at a time, what’s the worst that could happen?

The first 30 days, will be doing the below exercises every day, to build strong legs, to achieve my half marathon goal.

See you in 30 days!
