On my way to America I was chatting to one of my girlfriends Francesca (a vivacious, spontaneous, glamorous woman) about my bucket list, and she told me that that the only thing on her bucket list was to see Calvin Harris DJ in Las Vegas.
Well one thing lead to another and Franki and I spent 5 days living the high life in Las Vegas. We spent a night in the Bellagio, gambled in Caesar’s Palace, partied in a pool, dined and danced in Hakkasan, and yes, we saw Calvin Harris DJ in Las Vegas’ best super club Omnia.
It was amazing to be able to be with such a wonderful woman and help her achieve her dream. Last night she DJ’d at Ministry of Sound in London and I couldn’t be prouder of her.
Since I started Mission: Playtime, I have definitely pushed my own boundaries and said “Yes” to things I may have shied away from in the past. I’ve always thought of myself as an adventurous person, but in recent years… Well, I think I’ve just got comfortable. And so, because I’ve been more out there, people have been pushing me further, and I’ve done lots of things which might be on other people’s bucket lists. Which has been amazing.
So, since we last spoke, I have:
- Visited Las Vegas.
- Jumped out of a plane.
- Gone blonde.
- Eaten at my third Hakkasan (gotta catch ’em all?).
- Painted a seascape on the beach.
- Moved to Edinburgh (nearly… that’s next week).
I have to say, I haven’t made much progress on Mission: Playtime, but I have had fun. I’ve spent the last month living with my sister Nicky and her boyfriend. It’s been such a joy to spend so much time with them, and Betty loves them both dearly. I’m going to miss them enormously when I go.
